Olivia Fox Cabane is dispelling The Charisma Myth in her latest book: Find out how charisma can be learnt!

Charisma Myth
Do you go completely unnoticed when you enter a room?
Do people get bored talking to you?
Does your body language tell people that you are lacking in confidence?

If any of these statements strike a chord or you just feel that you want to be a more charismatic person then do not fret as help is at hand. In her new book, The Charisma Myth, Olivia Fox Cabane not only dispels the myth that charisma is inherent, but she also provides you with practical skills to master the hitherto elusive trait. Charisma CAN be taught, and this book is your guide.

Charisma can be a huge asset if you’re applying for a job, improving your relationships, or leading other people. The Charisma Myth shows you how to become more influential, more persuasive, and more inspiring. Soon you’ll be able to move through a room and have people say: ‘Wow, who’s that?’

Many people believe that charisma is unchangeable – you either have it or you don’t. But that’s simply not true. This groundbreaking, bestselling book reveals how charismatic behaviour can be learned by anyone.

Olivia Fox Cabane helps some of the world’s best-known people become more charismatic. Here she breaks charisma down into its fundamental components, revealing the secrets to how it works. Improving your charisma doesn’t mean transforming your personality: it’s about adopting a series of practices that suit you. So what are you waiting for?

A busy week for Brené Brown and her latest release Daring Greatly. NOW let Brené challenge everything you thought you knew about vulnerability!

Brené is continuing this week to captures people’s hearts and mind. Her philosophy and teachings on accepting vulnerability and the small imperfections in life are providing a refreshing new outlook on life on how to build more deep and thoughtful connections with people and to ultimately be more daring.

(If you haven’t already seen, back in March, on the back of the US release of the book saw Brené bring Oprah to tears on her show after sharing her parenting manifesto. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/03/22/dr-brene-brown-parenting-advice-oprah_n_2926914.html)

With a 3-page interview in Marie Claire, a mention in the Sunday Time Style magazine, which described Brené as ‘brilliantly funny and insightful’ and the book ‘a must read,’ Red’s Brigid Moss (Health Director) perhaps best sums up the general feel good factor around Brené and Daring Greatly: ‘She’s funny, …She’s for real (her findings are based on REAL people) …[and] She walks the talk. Indeed Brigid describes herself as Brené’s number one fan! (To read Brigid blog check out her post here http://www.redonline.co.uk/red-women/blogs/my-3-favourite-things-about-brene-brown also don’t forget to check out Brené’s recent feature in September’s edition of Red)

All this buzz is getting us here at Portfolio Penguin VERY excited, but we want you to share in this excitement and be inspired by Brené. When you have a spare 20 minutes if you do anything with your time, watch this video of Brené’s TEDx Talk; in this video Brené presents her ideas around vulnerability in a very light and humorous way and we guarantee you will, enjoy listening to Brené and take away some important life tips, which you can use throughout your everyday.

If you are a bit pushed for time then it is worth checking out her recent interview on the BBC Breakfast Show (this video is only 5 minutes!) I guarantee even after watching this short clip you will be convinced that accepting vulnerability in your life will be a courageous step into improving your life. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01cc0th
